 I am using the original Yahoo! and MSN smiley, because I don't really like
 those included by default. If I setup the original ones or disable smileys
 at all I have no problems. I've upgraded to the 2.0.2 version, but I have
 the same problem. Now, Pidgin also crashes when I'm trying to read a log
 of a previous conversation and there are a few more smileys.
 It doesn't happen on :> only. it happens also when I'm trying to insert
 other smileys, too.
