 Are you sure that this user hasn't disabled typing notifications?

 If it works with people using other clients, presumably it is something on
 the miranda end of things that is causing this.

 It is odd (unless the miranda user has disabled sending such
 notifications) that this would be for several protocols as each protocol
 implements typing notifications differently.
