 As a workaround edit config.status, remove the "-mt" from the two GLIB
 lines, and then simply run "./config.status. Then try gmake again.

 These flags are getting pulled from the compiler flags that Sun uses to
 build glib. They aren't compatible with gcc. Not sure what the best way to
 workaround that is automatically but I'll think about it. You could always
 download the Sun compilers for free too.
