Comment:

 Have you tried quitting Pidgin (Gaim?) before trying to delete the file?

 There isn't anything special about the file, so you should be able to
 delete it if it isn't in use.  If you still can't delete it, I would try
 running scandisk or `chkdsk /f` because there must be something wrong with
 the file record on disk.
