#2271: random client lack of response

Using version 2.0.2 and Vista, the Pidgin client will randomly just stop
responding. There does not seem to be any trigger and no error messages,
it just stops responding. I tried the debug version and gives no error or
indication that anything is wrong.
I can have the window open in the background or in the foreground, I can
have it minimized to the Taskbar or minimized to the process icons at the
bottom right by the clock. If minimized and it does this, it will not pull
up an active window. If in the foreground or background, many times I can
use the process icon to right click and Send message or login to an
account but that window comes up, it does nothing, will not respond as if
not accepting any input. If someone sends me an IM when this is happening,
I get the IM window/message but am not able to respond. The only thing
that window does is allow me to move it or minimize it. Any interaction
with any window related to the client does not respond aside from only
moving it or clicking another window (such as Firefox or IE) sending the
client windows to the background.
I have 2 accounts setup in the client, 1 for Yahoo and 1 for Jabber/XMPP.
The only way to "fix" this for now is to close the client in the Task
Manager and then restart it.
This occurs at random, heavy system load or no load, lots in memory or
very little in memory, with several IMs or none, after running for 20
minutes or 20 hours. There is no common factor other than being version
2.0.2 on Vista. This was never an issue with any previous versions and
only appeared with 2.0.2 which makes me believe that whatever changed in
the last update is causing an issue with Vista.
I am a PC Tech by trade so I do know this system is free from spyware,
viruses, malware, trojans and any other nasties (aside from Vista itself).
