 This bug is the same as bug #308 that I opened 3 months ago but was closed
 and reopened several times with no resolution ever being arrived at.

 To explain the bug better/further: after a "buddy" sends me a message, a
 small one-pixel wide line appears where the "user is typing" box appears
 in the conversation window.  If I then hover my mouse over the line, a
 tool tip pops up saying "User is typing."  It's as if the icon is always
 there, even when a user is not typing.  I've included several screenshots
 of different themes to show that the defect is visible in all of them.
