 Agreed, it is more proper the way you just described it. Just in case
 someone wants a quick fix, it could be done in the log viewer completly.

 Note that for the logviewer to “merge” two log files, they actually have
 to be parsed, which is close to impossible to do correctly because of bugs
 like #927 (I hope I’m not discouraging someone from tackling these :-))
