 this may be a non-problem. i noticed that when i exit pidgin using the
 gnome/x-windows close button (X) it does not actually exit, but minimizes
 to the task bar. when i started my system today, pidgin was active in the
 task bar, and when i clicked it, it came up in the window and is working.

 the pango message persists, but this might be a pango issue and not a
 pidgin issue.
