 Typing a URL (or URI?) that has an & (ampersand) in it, and sending it in
 a conversation, causes the other person to receive it twice.

 If I type the URI with & instead of & it works fine, and IIRC the w3c
 standards don't really allow the & character unescaped in URIs, so a
 speculation is that Pidgin is doing some excessively rigorous (more than
 most browsers) checking for URI syntax. Whatever it is, it is irritating.

 Along with the bug in #2336, it can cause a single link to appear 4 times
 on the other end!
