 This has already been closed wontfix so I won't discuss this much, but
 just pointing out that the same rationale (infopane shows it) could apply
 to the rest of the functions of the Buddy State Notification plugin too
 (goes/returns from away/idle, signs on/off).
 The fact is that the infopane is so far away up there in the conversation
 window (or might be turned off) that people might not notice it. Also more
 importantly these changes to the status message would not get logged, as
 the other person said.
