Comment:

 I'm sorry, but I've already tested that drag&drop over conversation window
 of a non-image file and pidgin DOES send that file (file transfer). same
 buddy, same protocol.
 (and that buddy assured me he did not change IM client software).

 The transfer occurs automatically, no other confirmation is requested.
