 sorry, but i posted a duplicate here:
 http://developer.pidgin.im/ticket/1447 (includes perhaps an idea or two
 for implementation).

 @seanegan: have you some kind of timeline for that feature? i thought
 about learning how to integrate it into pidgin, but i was hoping for one
 of the developers to do the work. :)
 perhaps there is already some test code somewhere we could try?
