 The attached patch adds OpenSSL support for libpurple.

 Use of OpenSSL in libpurple is only acceptable under the GPL if the "major
 components" of the operating system include OpenSSL by default.  This is
 the case on OS X and possibly other systems.  We could include the ssl-
 openssl.c file itself in the libpurple distribution but not make use of it
 unless the user applies the other parts of the attached patch, or this
 ticket can simply remain as-is.
