 If the notification icon does indeed get changed to flash, please make
 that an option.  I prefer to see something indicating a new message, but
 nothing flashing.

 FWIW, I still think that the white word bubble in the systray icon would
 be fine on its own as the Pidgin icon, and simply color it in when there's
 a new message.  Something like that.
