 How about if we used the double chat bubbles as hbons mocked up, where the
 one on the right is colored purple. Then when the "Blink on new message"
 option is selected (from the tray icon's right click menu), we animate it
 as hbons's mock up does?

 On a side note, the old envelope icon could be used as a new mail
 indicator (when using mail notification in pidgin).
