 Whenever I launch Pidgin 2.0.1, on W2K SP4, the window opens to the right
 of the desktop and it pushes all my carefully organized icons to the left
 of the screen.

 Keeping the desktop organized is impossible.

 No other software do that.

 Pidgin is not "always on top".
 Conversation window hiding is set to NEVER

 But this happens at startup anyway, before there are any conversation.
