 I installed the Fedora rpms first, and had the same problem.  I was using
 the pidgim rpms to try to figure out if it was the Fedora packages causing
 the problem, or something that was more common.  As for the debug
 packages, that would explain why the CRC didn't match.  I was using the
 Fedora default theme shown in the gnome control panel application
 originally, and when i switched to the Red Hat theme everything worked.
