 Hello,
 Although I'm very impressed by pidgin, I agree entirely with the owner of
 ticket 414. I hate those green protocol icons, I really think you should
 consider bringing back the ability to show the protocol icon (e.g. icq,
 msn, etc) instead of simply a green dot.

 As a compromise why not add the ability (as you have with the option of
 adding custom smilies) have an option to add custom icons?

 Yes, you might be after uniformity, but what makes a great piece of
 software stand out from simply a good piece of software is the ability to
 customise (without over complicating).

 And I think you're missing the point when you say protocol doesn't matter.
 People sometimes  simply like to know things.
