 To be clear, I meant that "we could include" to be a technical claim, not
 a proposal.  I submitted the patch so that it would be in a public
 libpurple space.

 It would be unfortunate, in my opinion, to kill the SSL plugins.
  1. Proper certificate management on OS X will eventually, if that part of
 Andreas's SoC project is successful, be through a new SSL plugin using the
 OS X CDSA framework. FWIW, Pidgin on OS X should also make use of this
 framework once the plugin is complete.  This lets the system-level
 certificate management and trust work properly.
  2. Furthermore, I have as yet been unable (despite several very time-
 consuming attempts) to get NSS to compile for Libpurple.framework in
 Adium.
