 Ok, this is a regression.  I've read the Design Document on why you don't
 want it, but this is an actual cash money issue for me.   I've got an
 AIM->SMS gateway for my family, but I've got to pay money for every
 message I send.  Previous to the change, I could tell if someone was at
 home on normal AIM (free) or roaming ($.25 per message).   Is there an
 actual reason for refusing this, or is it just a "Well I like it this way
 so we're doing it my way."?   Or is it "AOL and Yahoo and MSN will sue us
 if we tell you we're using their networks"?

 This ticket is a dupe of about 30 others closed with 'wontfix we hate you'
