 I understand full well, I have aim 6.1.41.2 and sending colon dash
 lowercase p does in fact show a smiley face when sending from aim to aim,
 and aim to pidgin. (pidgin show the smiley when sent a :-p from an aim
 client, but not when its sends the same characters itself. Aim converts to
 smiley in all cases.
