Comment:

 This has been discussed and rejected numerous times.  The only way in
 which the buddy lists are "mixed up" is that the buddy lists are ''shown''
 as a single list; nothing is really happening to either account's list in
 this case.

 If you want something like this, it can be done by running a second
 instance of Pidgin (`pidgin -c /dev/null` on Linux/UNIX-like systems or
 define `PIDGIN_MULTI_INST` as a Windows environment variable and then use
 `pidgin -c c:\some\temporary\directory`).
