 Okay... so this is the same problem that you deemed not worth fixing on
 Ticket #1064:

 (Obviously I am not Ross Gayler, but I didn't copy the message when it
 came up on my computer so I'm just pasting from his original report of the
 error.)

 ...but I read what you said about it, and I'm not that experienced with
 software issues and I don't really understand how to fix it.  This
 happened to me a month ago too when I first tried to install it, and I
 tried actually moving the stuff by hand but that didn't work either... and
 I didn't report it because I didn't understand what was going on at all
 and I didn't want to seem like an idiot.  Normally I wouldn't bother you
 with this, but first of all I think you should know that the same problem
 has happened to someone else, and second I've been using Gaim for years,
 and I can't edit my accounts from it anymore because in version 2.0.0beta6
 (on Windows 2000) it crashes whenever I try, which I've just been dealing
 with (though unhappily)... so I've been waiting a very long time for a new
 version to come out that might fix that problem, and now you've got this
 new Pidgin thing that refuses to open on my computer... so I'm kinda sad,
 because I'm going to have to give up on Gaim/Pidgin if I can't solve
 either of those problems.  :(

 Therefore, I would appreciate it greatly if you would either fix the
 problem or "working on an individual basis," help me to fix it myself.
