 I've see the same behavior, unfortunately; the latest build still has the
 issues described.  My preference is for Gaim/Pidgen, but since many of the
 people I have to correspond with use Yahoo!, I was forced to try different
 IM clients.  Yahoo! worked (both client download and web based), as did
 Trillian, and SIM.  Kopete seemed to have a similar issue; however, I was
 able to connect to yahoo be continually retrying the connection.  I'm not
 trying to advertise other IM clients, again I prefer Pidgen, I just
 thought I'd comment that I've seen the same behavior described in this
 defect but not with other clients.
