 Not sure if this is related to existing tickets or not.  I used GAIM 1.5
 version and did not have this problem.  I have an AIM connection and an
 XMPP connection on my notebook. I typically hibernate between office and
 home.  Since I upgraded to version 2 and now Pidgin, often the XMPP
 connection does not really connect.  It shows enabled, and it reflects the
 correct number of buddies, but shows none as online.  I have to disable,
 then enable, then disable, then enable  usually quite a few times before
 it actually shows all the online buddies.  I interpret that as not being
 connected until it does.  If left alone, it never connects.
