 It looks like you have the Log Reader plugin. I remember it being a bit
 buggy. Maybe you could try disabling that. Since Pidgin doesn't run
 though, you'll have to find the [wiki:"Using
 Pidgin#Whereismy.purpledirectory" preferences] and move them away
 temporarily to see if that fixes it (Log Reader is disabled by default,
 IIRC).
