 Remotely related I think. To my knowledge gaim-encryption was always a
 gaim-to-gaim protocol without any support in other im clients. On the
 other hand, XEP-0027 seems well defined and is in use by other clients,
 but of course it's restricted to the Jabber protocol. So the aim is
 similar, bu the approach different.
