Comment:

 I don't like this idea because a drop-down is impossible to use when it
 has hundreds of elements in it. I just don't see this being that useful in
 general. If you have a buddy list of any size, sorting through a huge list
 is going to be a big pain. I think a date-based log "manager" might help
 here, but I'm closing this ticket.
