 Hi there,
 thanks for you response.

 I found that if I wipe
 Directory=C:\chat\im
 string from talk.ini, pidgin runs well  (this is my conversations log
 directory)
 However, if I delete everything from C:\chat\im and leave the folder
 empty, but keep the Directory=C:\chat\im in the talk.ini, pidgin  crashes
 Let me know how can I help you to find the glitch
