 I've read about a previous posting regarding this bug, ticket 1508:

 I'm currently running Pidgin 2.0.2 on FC5 and have been having this
 trouble even since gaim2.0beta days.

 The output of the command is the same:[[BR]]
 $ rpm -qa pidgin\* libpurple\* purple\*
 libpurple-2.0.1-0.fc5
 pidgin-2.0.1-0.fc5

 How do I uninstall and reinstall pidgin so that I can use the Plugins
 menu? I am clueless as to how to remove the beta files (if that's what's
 causing this).[[BR]]
 any help would be great.
