#1850: Adding Google Talk accounts is confusing especialy for domains differing
from 'gmail.com'.

I was adding the two of my accounts, personal and work, to Pidgin and
while the first one, ending with "''@gmail.com''", presented no problem
whatsoever, the second one took me about 20 minutes of searching on Google
to figure out. The account is of "''Google Apps for Your Domain''" fame
ending with "''@somedomain.com''", which was very unintuitive to
configure. Manual setting of server field to "''talk.google.com''" could
be avoided, as well as the confusing behavior of the protocol dialog and
 icon.

As long as you make a conscious decision to openly support Google Talk by
adding a menu option and a recognizable icon into account configuration
settings you should probably go all the way and make this configuration as
seamless and non-techy as adding an ICQ/AOL account is.

On top of that the Google client's default behavior should be an example
in this case, as ICQ's default behavior for adding a new account is. No
"''login.icq.com''" required there. It's cool to have as an option, in the
 "Overly Advanced" tab.

This is only an account of personal experiences, nothing more, so please
do not be offended. None of this was written to make you feel bad or
anything. Most users read the documentation ''after'' they meet a dead-
 end.

Thank you for the otherwise wonderful job on this awesome client.
