 As-U-Type is an external spell checking program that highlights or
 replaces misspelled words in any program running on the machine. I've used
 it with dozens and dozens of programs with no issues. With Pidgin,
 however, it doesn't work correctly. When I mistype a word for which
 As-U-Type has a correction, the word is erased but not replaced. My
 uneducated guess is that Pidgin is not allowing external processes to
 access text input. For now, I've disabled As-U-Type with Pidgin but it'd
 be nice to have that spell checking functionality available in my IMs.
