 Well unfortunately I can't use Pidgin because whenever I try to add a
 buddy I get the error message "Unable to Add" (twice). After that it looks
 like the buddy is in the list but when I restart Pidgin it's gone again.

 I'm using Pidgin 2.0.1 in Fedora 7 (the 2.0.2 update doesn't seem to be
 available). Before I switched to Linux I used Miranda IM in Windows XP.
 Now I also tried installing ICQ 6 in Windows and when I logged in there I
 kind of expected to find some buddies there from a server side list
 retrieval but it was all empty. Weird?!
