 We are currently testing pidgin as jabber client for use with openfire
 jabber server in a company with 60+ employees. I wondered if it'd be easy
 to offer an installer method to ask for a configuration url or better
 being able to give an configuration url over command line to the
 installer:

 pidgin-installer.exe --url=http://jabber.company.tld/pidginsetup/

 This could offer a template for the account xml file to pidgin with one or
 more predefined accounts so you only have to fill credentials.

 I think this can be done quite easily with the nsis windows installer but
 is harder for other platforms.

 Maybe there are better ideas for solving the problem of company wide
 deployments with as less effort as possible.
