 We have used CVS and Subversion in the past.  Neither meet our needs.  You
 should not, however, try Pidgin MTN unless you really are going to
 actively contribute patches.  2.1.0, which will be the next release, will
 have a banner called an infopane at the top of each tab that should be
 what you want.
