 Pidgin is the client of choice for my needs. I chose not to use Miranda
 because it is not OSX-capable and it's a pain in the rear-end to set up;
 but I do have growing professional needs.

 Perhaps for the next year or so, it would be worth the effort to include
 real-time collaborative mindmapping functionality to the IM tabs right
 along-side IMs and chatrooms.

 I certainly would not be the only one to benefit from this.
