 I also consider this to be totally broken ATM:

 - if there is only one "tab", ICQ# or login name is shown, never the
 alias: bad! the alias should always be visible!

 - if there are tabs, the tabs show the nick but not the online status.

 I think it was a bad idea to move the avatar pic up there, it just doesn't
 work well with tabs...
