Comment:

 This patch does indeed allow Pidgin to build on Windows.  Building without
 it dies a horrible death.  I'm a bit concerned about the tons of warnings
 that are generated that I don't recall seeing previously, but maybe Daniel
 will have some magic up his sleeve.

 I'm marking this as a blocker because the errors will '''have''' to be
 resolved before release.
