 Our IT dept. filters IM usage by means of filtering HTTP verbs (CONNECT,
 etc.) in packets. Specifically, they dis-allow HTTP-proxies through this
 mechanism.

 The Yahoo client can connect without a proxy, letting me use it at work.
 Pidgin 2b7 or 2b6 does not. Using HTTP-Tunnel (http://www.http-
 tunnel.com/) I am able to use Pidgin, but not without. HTTP-Tunnel is a
 free service for very low-traffic usage (like IM), but the free version is
 not always available (like today).

 This defect is similar to defect #496.
