 OK, clarifications:

 - Yes, all smileys don't work.
 - Yes, I know that :-/ is now :-\ but apparently before you parsed :-/ as
 :-\.  I don't know why this functionality is gone.
 - Yes, when I click on the smiley icon in an IM, a menu opens and I can
 click on any of the emoticons and they will appear in the IM.  It seems
 that only when I type :-) or :-P, the text is not converted to a smiley.
 - Changing my smiley theme to None and then back to Default did not help.
 The text is still not being parsed.
