 1. Expand a group.
  1. Expand a contact in that group.
  1. Collapse the group.
  1. Expand the group again.

 The contact in that group is in collapsed state (with the expander
 displayed), and the context menu with "Collapse" item.

 I asked in IRC, here is the log:

 intended to let you operate on the buddies and then collapse again.

 menu on that contact look like? Is it the expanded or collapsed menu?

 (11:34:21 AM) khc: which means it's in the expanded state
