 This might be because people have either given up trying to convince you
 or they just moved to another client. Unfortunately there is no good
 alternative in Linux.

 I really do not understand, why so many designers of computer software
 think it is so important to hide every seems-not-to-be-important-detail
 from the users. With the same argument you could say that a graphics
 program should save it's files only in one format because users might get
 confused what jpg, tif... means. Another example is that file extensions
 are hidden since a long time, and I still hate it.

 Perhaps you start a poll later when people, as you say, got used to the
 new status icons.
