 Old gaim versions had this "feature" and it worked quite well...
 When somebody is invisible and talks to you he/she wants you to now that
 he/she is there, doesn't he/she?  Otherwise there wouldn't be a
 conversation...

 So I don't see any problem to show the person as invisible (well that's
 his/her current status then) and as offline again when this person really
 goes offline.
