 When loaded the plugin tweaks the settings itself and doesn't rely on the
 file being present. The file method exists so that the plugin doesn't need
 to be loaded for the settings to take effect. What does 'ls -l
 /home/mrfree/.purple/gtkrc-2.0' say?
