 in DOZ when choosing tools/preferences/sounds/ as soon as the 'choose'
 button is selected to use customized sounds for pidgin she immediately
 crashes... any sound events can be selected without issue, only when
 'choose' is selected does the crash occur... i do have drives c-h on this
 box if that might be an issue.

 attached is debug.log created by initializin pidgin with the -d cmd shell
 option...
 unfortunately when the crash occurs nothing is logged.
