Comment:

 It's not odd. Pidgin is powered by libpurple. I think we need to make that
 more clear, and we need an FAQ entry on this to help people like you, but
 the settings are in .purple so they can be shared by multiple libpurple-
 powered clients.

 Luke: We need a short FAQ entry that covers the migration and this, if we
 don't already have one.
