 In any case, I downloaded a deb of 2.0 final from
 http://www.getdeb.net/release.php?id=817 and it worked on my computer with
 no effort on my part, which tells me that either you were right in that
 the previous deb was bad (although many people said it worked for them) or
 there was some change between the last beta and the release that fixed the
 problem. In any case, it would seem to make sense for you guys to release
 official debs for the beta releases. You already have rpms and I think the
 demand for debs is at least as high if not higher than rpms and certainly
 the percentage of Ubuntu users who have no idea how to compile from source
 is higher than almost any other distro.
