 Within the chat windows, buddy icons have a grey rectangle around them.
 Interestingly, if the theme for Gtk+ is changed to "Clearlooks" the
 problem goes away (is hidden?).  It seems that with most of the other
 themes (notably, the default one for windows) the grey box remains.  Since
 the icons appear in at least 3 other places where transparency is
 preserved, I feel like it may be easy to fix.

 Also, I believe this was in the last beta (7).  Maybe it's due to a change
 in Gtk+?
