 I understand that I may have sounded a bit too urgent, but doesn't someone
 have the ability to add a redirect real quick?  In the time it takes to
 decide if this is important or not, the problem could be fixed.

 Sure this bug isn't harming you, but it also doesn't do anything for the
 confidence a new user has in the product. Just takes a bit away from what
 otherwise is a very good first impression.  From your statistics, it seems
 like a very popular product.  Do you also have page hits for
 http://pidgin.im/documentation.php ?  Might help put this into
 perspective.
