Comment:

 The reason I was using DBX was because I followed your GDB directions and
 it wasn't working properly. Everytime I run pidgin the segfault
 immediately cause gdb to exit. I went ahead and used the core file, but in
 that case i just got a lot of "??". I'll try it again today and see what I
 come up with.
